Michael Bay will receive the ShoWest 2009 Vanguard Award for excellence in filmmaking at the upcoming confab of theater owners.
ShoWest runs March 30-April 2 in Las Vegas.
Paramount opens Bay's summer tentpole "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" on June 24. Original "Transformers," released in summer 2007, grossed more than $700 million worldwide and is Bay's most successful film to date.
Bay has two production companies -- Bay Films and Platinum Dunes -- which he formed with partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form.
