Cartoon Network has inked a wide-ranging programming deal with the NBA that includes the development of a reality series targeted to premiere in the fall.
Focused on the kids of pro ballers, "My Dad's a Pro" is the first of several shortform and longform programming initiatives to come out of the partnership between the Turner-owned network and the NBA.
The league has had a broadcast relationship with Turner Sports for 25 years. Deal with Cartoon comes as that cabler is ramping up production of boy-targeted live-action series, a programming genre that has recently become a competitive arena with the emergence of Cartoon rival Disney XD.
