Al-Hurra kicks off 'Al Youm'

Network debuts three-hour news program

BAGHDAD -- U.S.-funded Al-Hurra Television has launched a live three-hour news program, "Al Youm."Show includes coverage of health, entertainment, sports, technology, society and culture. "Al Youm" airs 4-7 p.m. GMT Sunday to Thursday throughout the Middle East, North Africa and Europe.

Al-Hurra, a commercial-free Arabic-language satcaster, is operated by nonprofit corporation the Middle East Broadcasting Networks, which is financed by the American government.
