'Arcadia' returns to West End

Leveaux will direct '93 Tom Stoppard play

Tom Stoppard's 1993 play "Arcadia" returns to the West End later this spring in a production helmed by David Leveaux.

Leveaux, whose Rialto credits include "Cyrano de Bergerac" and "Nine," directs a cast that includes Samantha Bond, Jessie Cave, Neil Pearson and Dan Stevens.

A transatlantic team of Brit and Stateside producers -- Sonia Friedman Prods., Robert G. Bartner and Roger Berlind -- produce "Arcadia," suggesting Broadway potential for the revival.

Plot juxtaposes the story of two contempo scholars with the 19th century lives they are investigating. Originally helmed by Trevor Nunn, "Arcadia" bowed at London's National Theater in 1993 and went on to play the West End and Broadway.

New production begins perfs at the Duke of York's Theater May 27 ahead of a press opening set for June 11. Production is currently slated to run through Sept. 12.
