The American Film Institute announced its participants for the 2009 AFI Directing Workshop for Women, which runs May 4-22 at AFI's campus in Hollywood.
This year's participants include: Angie Comer, Deborah Correa, Lisa Gold, Emmy Grinwis, Maggie Kiley, Kaz Phillips, Sylvia Sether and Kinga Suto.
This year's eight participants will attend a three-week classroom tutorial and a five-day production of their own short.
Past alumnae of the program, which started in 1974, include Lesli Linka Glatter (TV's "Mad Men"), Randa Haines ("Children of a Lesser God") and Maya Angelou ("Down in the Delta").
