Oxygen is close to picking up a nonfiction series starring outspoken Dallas chef Blythe Beck, according to sources close to the project.
The cabler said no deal has been made for the half-hour, but sources close to the network confirm "The Naughty Kitchen" has thus far been well received in test screenings.
Series, which revolves around the brassy, ambitious five-star chef Beck and the colorful cast of characters at her upscale Dallas restaurant, is produced by Code Entertainment and Authentic Pictures.
Larry Kennar and Rick Berg serve as exec producers for Code, and Lauren Lexton and Tom Rogan exec produce for Authentic. Brandy Menefree and Brad Hall are showrunners and exec producers.
Also in active development at NBC Universal-owned Oxygen are "The Girls," which focuses on three young singers trying to break into Nashville, and "Hogs and Heifers," which highlights the goings-on at the eponymous bar franchise.
