Story centers on a young man who sends his wife for an experimental treatment to save her from a terminal illness. Although she returns completely cured, she is suddenly infected with something more terrifying. "Max Payne" scribe Beau Michael Thorne wrote the screenplay.
Lensing is skedded to begin in the summer.
Vertigo Entertainment's Doug Davison and Roy Lee ("The Strangers") are producing alongside Brian Witten and Michael Connolly.
Witten most recently exec produced the remake of "Friday the 13th" for New Line/Paramount and will produce "Cure" via his Witten Pictures banner.
In addition to "Last House on the Left," Iliadis wrote, directed and produced the indie "Hardcore." The "Cure" deal was brokered by CAA.
Iliadis is repped by CAA and 3 Arts.
Connolly manages Thorne through his Mad Hatter Entertainment banner.
