While most of the attention on Thursday focused on the shift of the Fox Entertainment chairmanship from Peter Liguori to Peter Rice, change was also occurring in the office of the net's top drama developer.

NBC Entertainment/Universal Media Studios drama vice president Terence Carter is in talks to move to Fox, where he'd serve as co-head of drama alongside Rachel Bendavid.

Carter will essentially swap jobs with Fox drama topper Laura Lancaster, who is moving to NBC U to take the top drama gig. Lancaster will report to NBC Entertainment/Universal Media Studios topper Angela Bromstad, with whom she's worked closely in the past.

In her previous tenure at the Peacock, Lancaster was head of drama at NBC Universal TV Studio, back when Bromstad was president of the operation.

Carter had been running NBC's drama department following the departure last fall of Katie O'Connell. Lancaster had been rumored since then to be moving to take O'Connell's vacant job and reunite with Bromstad; that opened the door for Carter, whose contract with NBC was up, to move to Fox.

Back at Fox, Carter and Bendavid will report to exec VP Matt Cherniss.
