The tuner opened Jan. 28 at Chi's Drury Lane Water Tower Theater for a run originally hoped to last six months, ahead of a national tour that remains on the sked.
But biz for the Windy City staging, which opened in the midst of the current financial crisis, didn't match expectations.
The entire production, with a cast including Elizabeth Stanley ("Cry-Baby") and Max von Essen, will ship out overseas for the Tokyo run, the exact dates of which have not yet been announced.
