Michaels will host live daytime coverage of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics on NBC. The 2010 Games will be Michaels' first behind the mic since the 1988 Calgary Olympics as well as his first as host.
Bob Costas will host primetime coverage of the Olympics, which run Feb. 12-28.
The Vancouver Olympics will mark the 30th anniversary of Michaels' famous call from Lake Placid, N.Y., when he asked a worldwide audience, "Do you believe in miracles?" as the U.S. hockey team upset the much more powerful Russian team en route to a gold medal.
In addition to the Vancouver Olympics, NBC also has the rights to the London 2012 Summer Games. The network fared very well with last summer's Beijing Olympics, where swimmer Michael Phelps won eight gold medals.
