Comedy Central reups 'Silverman'

'Sarah' gets third season at laff network

'The Sarah Silverman Program'

Coin from MTV Networks sibling Logo helped Comedy Central reup 'The Sarah Silverman Program' for a third season.

Thanks to some fancy budgetary finagling, "The Sarah Silverman Program" will return to Comedy Central for a third season.

The cabler confirmed Tuesday that it's ordered 10 new episodes of the comedy series, with MTV Networks sibling Logo stepping in to co-finance the show.

Renewal of the skein was put in peril when its exec producers balked at budget cuts mandated by parent company Viacom.

However, negotiation of a shared window with Logo, which targets lesbian and gay viewers, made up the budgetary difference and allowed the show to resume in the lifestyle to which it had become accustomed.

Logo has previously run Comedy Central programming, including animated series "Drawn Together." The pair have never before entered into such a cost-sharing relationship, however.
