The eighth Tribeca Film Festival will open April 22 with Woody Allen's "Whatever Works."
The pic reps a return to Gotham for Allen, who'd shot and set his last four films in Spain and the U.K. That makes it a logical fit with Tribeca, which began as a bid to rally lower Manhattan after 9/11 and has often programmed pics with Gotham.
"Whatever" is a Sony Classics release. It stars Larry David, Evan Rachel Wood, Patricia Clarkson and Ed Begley Jr.
