Conan ends on ratings high note

'Late Night' nabs biggest aud since Jan. 2005

Before heading to the "Tonight Show," Conan O'Brien ended his "Late Night" career on a high note Friday, exiting the 12:35 a.m. NBC skein with his biggest audience since January 2005.

The Feb. 20 installment of "Late Night" captured the show's biggest 18-49 aud since December 2006, while also, for the first time, holding 100% of the "Tonight Show's" lead-in for that demo.

The last "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" featured appearances by Will Ferrell, rock band the White Stripes and O'Brien's former "Late Show" sidekick, Andy Richter.

O'Brien is set to take on "Tonight Show" hosting duties June 1, with Richter serving as the show's announcer. "Late Night" will return with original episodes March 2, with "Saturday Night Live" alum Jimmy Fallon taking over as host.
