"Bolt," "Marley and Me," "Red" and "Saving Luna" are among the feature film nominees for the Humane Society's 23rd Genesis Awards, honoring animal-friendly news and entertainment media in 19 competitive categories.
Nods in the dramatic series category went to "Bones," "Grey's Anatomy" and "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit."
"Family Guy" and "The Simpsons" will compete for the Sid Ceasar comedy award, while "Handy Manny" and "Spongebob Squarepants," for the children's programming category.
On the news side, all three broadcast networks are recognized in the national news feature category, including "CBS Evening News with Katie Couric," "NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams" and ABC's "World News with Charles Gibson."
ABC will compete against itself in the national TV newsmagazine category with "20/20" and "Nightline," while the category's cable noms include CNN's "Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell" and HBO's "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel."
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi will receive the Wyler Award for making news on behalf of animals.
The awards gala will be held March 28 at the Beverly Hilton.
