Miyazaki won the award for director and original story, while Noboru Yoshida won for art direction.
The foreign film prize went to "Kung Fu Panda."
In the TV category the top prize was shared by "Macross F" and "Code Geass -- Lelouch of the Rebellion."
In the Open Entries competition for short toons submitted from around the world, the Grand Prize went to Heiko van der Scherm's "Descendants," voiced by Whoopi Goldberg. Toon also scooped the jury special prize at the 12th Seoul Cartoon & Animation Festival.
The 12 anime awards will be given out during the Tokyo Intl. Anime Fair, which unspools March 18 to 21 at the Tokyo Big Sight event space.
