'Mr. Bones 2' scores in South Africa

Gray Hofmeyr comedy earns $3.4 million

"Mr. Bones 2: Back From the Past" has become the highest-grossing South African film ever on home turf, earning $3.4 million since its Nov. 27 release and beating the $3.2 million record set by its predecessor, "Mr. Bones," in 2001.

Again directed by Gray Hofmeyr, comedian Leon Schuster reprises his role as a white African witch doctor. Schuster scripted both pics.
