Paul Friedman has been upped to senior VP of music business affairs for Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Friedman will remain responsible for transactions related to music on behalf of SPE's global operations. In this capacity, he handles the acquisition of music rights for content including theatrical, TV, home entertainment, online, mobile and videogame productions, as well as marketing and merchandise.
He will report to Shelly Bunge, executive VP of the studio's music affairs group.
Friedman, who joined the studio in 2001, previously practiced law in Los Angeles, most recently for King, Holmes, Paterno and Berliner, and worked as a financial analyst for Polygram Music Publishing.
