HOLLYWOOD -- David Sussman, former exec veep and general counsel for MTV Networks, has joined legal giant Skadden Arps.
Sussman's hire signals the firm's intent to expand its presence in entertainment and sports.
Based in Gotham, Sussman comes to Skadden Arps after serving as head of the media, sports and entertainment department at the Dellacorte Group private equity firm. From 1997-2007, he served as the head of all biz affairs and legal matters for Viacom's MTV Networks.
Before MTV Networks, Sussman spent eight years with the New York Yankees, serving as exec veep and general counsel and later in the additional capacity as the franchise's chief operating officer.
