Youth Film Workshop

Sponsored by Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board and the British Colonial Hilton, students in the workshop experiment with digital technology and shoot their films in a day.

HAMPTONS INTL. FILM FESTIVAL

Screenwriters' Lab

When: April 3-5

The intensive spring workshop pairs established producers, directors and helmers with up-and-coming writers in a one-on-one lab setting.

Film-scoring Workshop

SAN SEBASTIAN FILM FESTIVAL

Intl. Film School Meeting

Hands-on workshop in conjunction with the Intl. Film School Meeting, which focuses on cinematography. Top pic feted with the aiTe award and €6,000 ($7,800) prize.

TELLURIDE FILM FESTIVAL

Student Symposium

When: Labor Day weekend

Where: Telluride, Colo.

Grants a group of 50 film and nonfilm students from throughout the world access to the fest, including screenings, seminars and discussions.

TORONTO INTL. FILM FESTIVAL

Talent Lab

Now in its second year, Talent Lab is a four-day artistic-development program open to U.K. minorities. Staged by industry body Skillset, the lab is part of the fest and includes seminars with internationally acclaimed filmmakers.
