Cannon replaces Jerry Springer, who announced last week that he was departing the show. Cannon is the third host for the skein, which enters its fourth season this year; before Springer, Regis Philbin handled hosting duties.
As part of the deal, Peacock has signed Cannon to also take part in other projects at the Peacock.
Cannon's credits include hosting MTV's "Nick Cannon Presents Wild'n Out." He also hosted ABC's recent "Presidential Inaugural Neighborhood Ball," and emceed the 2008 Teen Choice Awards for Fox.
Sharon Osbourne, Piers Morgan and David Hasselhoff continue as the show's judges.
