Pope joins Fox's 'Lie to Me'

Former NBC TV head signs on to drama

Katherine Pope, former prexy of NBC Universal’s TV studio, has signed on to the Fox drama “Lie to Me” as a consulting producer.

Pope will work on the final four segs of the Tim Roth starrer’s initial 13-episode order. “Lie to Me,” which stars Roth as a behavioral expert and criminal investigator who can tell when people are lying, hails from 20th Century Fox TV and Imagine TV. Skein bowed last month in the plum 9 p.m. Wednesday slot following “American Idol.”

Pope exited her post as Universal Media Studios prexy in December amid a broader shakeup at NBC Entertainment. She’d spent eight years in various production and programming posts at the Peacock.

“Lie to Me” is exec produced by creator-showrunner Sam Baum, Imagine TV principals Brian Grazer and David Nevins plus Steven Maeda.
