McGregor, Mulligan consider 'Slide'

Patterson to make directing debut with film

Ewan McGregor and Carey Mulligan are in talks to star in Myriad Pictures' "The Electric Slide."

Tristan Patterson will make his directing debut. Patterson's screenplay is based on the article "The Yankee Bandit: The Life and Times of Eddie Dodson, World's Great Bank Robber," written by Timothy Ford for Gear magazine.

In the 1980s, Dodson (McGregor) robbed more than 72 banks in the Los Angeles area before the FBI nailed him. Christine Vachon, Brad Simpson, Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Jocelyn Hayes are producing.

McGregor, who is prepping to shoot Roman Polanski's "The Ghost" in Berlin, will appear opposite Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's upcoming "Da Vinci Code" follow-up "Angels and Demons."

Mulligan's upcoming films include Michael Mann's "Public Enemies" and Jim Sheridan's "Brothers."

Myriad is pre-selling "Electric Slide" at the European Film Market in Berlin.
