'Shootout' hosts off to primetime

"StoryMakers" will feature intimate gatherings of top actors in roundtable discussions of current entertainment topics.
Joel Stillerman, senior vice president of original programming for AMC, said, "Our network wanted to create a venue for two of the industry's most influential personalities to talk to the people who are out there creating the stories we love. This will not be your typical interview show."
Stillerman said a roundtable format will allow the hosts and their guests "to present something that is much more about honoring the craft of acting and filmmaking in a conversational setting."
"Shootout" premiered in October 2003 as a half-hour weekly talkshow and over its run has featured such guests as Denzel Washington, Mel Gibson, Steven Spielberg, Dustin Hoffman, Jamie Foxx, Kate Winslet, Sarah Jessica Parker and Charlize Theron.
Bart is editor-in-chief of Variety; Guber is chairman-CEO of Mandalay Entertainment and former chairman of the board and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment.
"StoryMakers" will be produced by Radical Media, the Emmy-winning producers of "Iconoclasts" on Sundance Channel and "Ten Days That Unexpectedly Changed America" on the History Channel.
AMC and Radical previously teamed in producing the pilot for "Mad Men."
