A total of 16 prizes were dished out at the fifth edition of the awards, which took place Wednesday at London’s Millennium Hotel to raise funds for the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund.
U collected distrib of the year honors and film of the year for “Mamma Mia!,” last year’s top grossing pic.
Entertainment collected the indie distrib award for “Sex and the City.” Optimum Releasing netted the foreign-language film prize for “The Orphanage.”
In exhib categories, the Vue Cinema circuit was named chain of the year and bagged the marketing prize for its sing-a-long “Mamma Mia!” screenings initiative.
Cineworld sites in Glasgow and Dublin collected cinema of the year kudos for the U.K. and Ireland, respectively.
James Bond producing duo Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, and Andrew Cripps, president, Paramount Pictures Intl., received previously announced special RAAM prizes on the night.
