Lifetime bulks up on 'Diet'

Network renews weight loss-themed show

'Diet Tribe'

Lifetime has ordered a second season of weight-loss skein 'DietTribe.'

Lifetime has reupped its weight loss-themed "DietTribe" for a second season.

The cable net has ordered eight additional episodes of the reality series, which tracks a circle of overweight female friends who have jointly committed to change their lifestyles and eating habits.

The series, produced by Pie Town Prods., garnered 602,000 viewers for its season-one finale Monday, leading out of "Wife Swap."

Lifetime officials said they're intrigued by the online community that has coalesced around the show; it largely accounts for a 30% increase in traffic to MyLifetime.com in January.

Lifetime is targeting a summer launch for season two of the series.
