CMT's 'Duets' has been renewed.

CMT has reupped "Can You Duet" for a second season after the music-competition series enjoyed the highest-ever original-series premiere on the cabler last year.

The MTV Networks channel has ordered eight episodes of the series produced by FremantleMedia North America. CMT plans to launch the second campaign in June.

"Can You Duet" bowed in April to 1.4 million total viewers and 736,000 adults 18-49. It ran Fridays at 8 p.m.

In the show, host Rossi Morreale leads a panel of celebrity judges, which last year included Naomi Judd, vocal coach Brett Manning and songwriter Aimee Mayo. Last year's winners, Caitlin Fisher and Will Snyder, were signed to contracts with Sony Music Nashville's Columbia Records.

Jeff Boggs ("Nashville Star," "Spy TV") serves as exec producer along with CMT's Bob Kusbit, John Hamlin and Melanie Moreau.
