LONDON -- Sales and finance entity Fortissimo Films has tapped veteran flack Chris Paton as senior VP of acquisitions and development. Paton joins the Netherlands and Hong Kong based company after a long career with the DDA PR agency, where he was senior vice chairman.
Paton will head up Fortissimo's acquisitions operations, source new product, develop current projects as well as explore production opportunities.
"Chris' arrival comes at a time when we are aiming to diversify our line-up," said Fortissimo co-topper Wouder Barendrecht. "With the specialty film universe under stress around the globe, the ever challenging environment compels us to look for a different kind of mix in our film and library line-up."
Paton's appointment comes in time for the Berlin fest, which unspools Thursday.
Fortissimo has four films in official selection, including Robert Kenner's "Food Inc." and Nati Baratz's "Unmistaken Child."
