Neil Jordan will write and direct the feature adaptation of Neil Gaiman's "The Graveyard Book," the young people's novel that received the Newbery Award.
"The Graveyard Book" is the story of an orphan raised by ghosts in a cemetery. Gaiman announced Jordan's involvement while on "The Today Show," where he was promoting the release of Focus Features' animated feature "Coraline," which Henry Selick adapted from Gaiman's work.
Gaiman will produce "The Graveyard Book," which will be shot as a live-action feature. London-based f/x production house Framestore will work on the effects.
Jordan is currently in post production on "Ondine" starring Colin Farrell. His credits also include "The Good Thief," "Breakfast on Pluto" and "The End of the Affair."
