Discovery Studios has named former HBO digital media exec Sean Atkins vice president of West Coast production and development.
In addition to supervising production and development for Los Angeles-based series and specials, Atkins will serve as the key liaison between the studio and Discovery Communications' L.A.-based networks, TLC, Planet Green and OWN.
Atkins most recently served as senior VP of digital media for HBO, where he developed multiplatform strategies for the pay cabler.
