Chiaro joins Winfrey's 'Dr. Oz'

'Today' alum signs on as co-exec producer

Amy Chiaro, an alum of NBC's "Today," has signed on with Oprah Winfrey's latest syndie spinoff, "Dr. Oz," as co-exec producer.

"Dr. Oz," hosted by Dr. Mehmet Oz, the resident medical expert on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," is set to bow in September. Chiaro's hire indicates that the health and lifestyle show will have a strong emphasis on morning show-style informational and feature segments. Chiaro comes to the Harpo Prods./Sony Pictures TV strip after serving as a senior broadcast producer for NBC's ayem powerhouse, and as exec producer of the weekend edition of "Today."

Chiaro will work alongside "Oz" exec producer Mindy Moore-Borman. Chiaro's first task has been to help recruit other production staffers for the show, which will originate from Gotham's Rockefeller Center.
