Lifetime to 'Cook Yourself Thin'

Reality series focuses on cutting calories

Lifetime has greenlit health-and-lifestyle-themed nonfiction series "Cook Yourself Thin" for a spring launch.

Cabler has ordered 20 half-hour episodes of the series, which stars food experts Harry Eastwood, Allison Fishman and Candice Kumai. It will focus on showing viewers how to cut calories and fat out of otherwise unhealthy meals.

Produced by IMG Media's Tiger Aspect Prods., "Cook Yourself Thin" is based on a successful Brit series that was, in turn, adapted from Eastwood's cookbook of the same name.

Lifetime plans to stream episodes of the series on its Mylifetime.com broadband outlet the day after they air on the cable channel.

Lauren Deen ("Martha Stewart Living") and Christine Connor will serve as co-exec producers.
