MPI takes 'Gnaw' for U.S.

Soda nabs 'Summer Scars' for U.K.

By
LONDON — MPI Media Group has snapped up U.S. rights to Greg Mandry’s twisted Brit horror “Gnaw” from sales shingle Jinga Films.

Pic is about six friends’ supposedly idyllic weekend away in the English countryside, which takes a turn for the worse when they find themselves hunted by a family of cannibals.

Pic has the tagline “Nice to have your friends for dinner.”

Greg Newman, MPI’s vice president of acquisitions, said, “This is British horror at its most base, vile and rude; fans will love it.”

“Gnaw” has been selected to screen at the Fantasporto film festival in Portugal, which runs from Feb. 20 to March 1.

In other Jinga news, U.K. indie distrib Soda Pictures has snapped up U.K. rights to Brit horror “Summer Scars,” about disaffected Welsh teens terrorized by a dangerous drifter.
