"Dusty Peacock" will star Valentine as an illusionist whose stunts always fail. Sony Pictures TV is expected to produce the Web series for Crackle.com.
James also is in talks to direct the shorts.
Valentine is also pitching half-hour project "The Bachelor Chronicles," based on a Men's Health magazine column. That project would star Valentine as a dating columnist who must date at least three people per week.
Beth Rigazio and Patrick Clifton are penning that project, with Valentine and Elizabeth Fowler attached as producers.
Valentine, who is James' brother, also appeared in "Paul Blart" as well as James' other recent feature, "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry." He'll next be seen in indie feature "The Christmas Dog."
Reuben's credits include "King of Queens," as well as Cedric the Entertainer's pilot at ABC last year.
