Chuck Lorre, co-creator and exec producer of CBS/Warner Bros. TV's "Two and a Half Men" and "The Big Bang Theory," has been tapped to receive the Television Showman of the Year at the ICG Publicists Awards at the BevHilton on Feb. 18.

Lorre's been a prolific sitcom scribe and colorful character in the biz for more than 20 years. He's known for including offbeat personal messages that change each week on the Chuck Lorre Prods. vanity card that runs at the end of his shows.

"Two and a Half Men" ranks as primetime's top-rated comedy, while "Big Bang" has been on a roll rating-wise in its sophomore year.

Lorre also created and exec produced ABC's "Grace Under Fire" and CBS' "Cybill" and co-created ABC's "Dharma & Greg." Early on in his TV writing career, Lorre earned his sitcom battle stripes serving as a writer and co-exec producer of ABC's "Roseanne."
