The long, winding development road traveled by "Drop Dead Diva" has led to a series greenlight on Lifetime.
Hourlong series, created by Josh Berman ("Bones," "CSI") originally for Fox, is slated to bow on the cabler in the summer.
Produced by Sony Pictures TV, skein stars stage actress Brooke Elliott as a brilliant, thoughtful and overweight attorney whose body is inhabited by the soul of a vapid fashion model.
Margaret Cho co-stars.
Storyline Entertainment's Craig Zadan and Neil Meron serve as exec producers alongside Berman.
Originally set up at Fox, "Drop Dead Diva" moved to Lifetime following the WGA strike.
