Zipper Factory closes suddenly

Real estate disagreement led to closure

Off Broadway performance space The Zipper Factory has suddenly shuttered, yanking all its upcoming programming effective immediately.

Closing, attributed to a disagreement over real estate, was announced by Zipper owner and proprietor Lee Z. Davis.

Theater opened in 2001 and has hosted shows including "True Love," "Here Lies Jenny," "Elle," "Jacques Brel is Alive and Well..." and Sarah Silverman's "Jesus is Magic." Venue also has recently showcased music, comedy and burlesque acts.

David Conrad Brouillard was artistic producer with Bill Coyle serving as producing associate.

Zipper has an attached tavern space, which also is closing.
