Shorts in the live-action and animated categories are set to bow to prior to the Academy telecast on Feb.22 in order to give viewers the chance to see the nominated films.
Coupled with the theatrical run, pics will be released on iTunes Feb. 17 in the U.S., U.K. and Canada.
This years release is supported in part by Magnolia Pictures.
Noms for the 81st Academy Awards will be announced Jan. 22.
