IDA taps Michael Lumpkin

Frameline veteran named executive director

The Intl. Documentary Assn. has tapped Michael Lumpkin as its executive director.

Lumpkin is tasked with expanding the IDA's support for docus worldwide. The L.A.-based org puts on the annual IDA Documentary Awards and the DocuWeek Theatrical Showcase, and it publishes the quarterly mag Documentary.

Lumpkin previously helmed the San Francisco media arts org Frameline, which operates the San Francisco LGBT Film Festival and Frameline Distribution. He also co-produced docu "The Celluloid Closet."
