Archival stage material goes online

American Theater Wing, SSDC team on venture

The American Theater Wing has partnered with the legit helmers' union, the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers, to make archival audio and video material available online for streaming and download.

Conversations between creatives fostered by the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation, an arm of the SSDC, are now accessible on the Wing website, including talks with helmers Jose Quintero, George C. Wolfe, James Lapine and a discussion between Daniel Sullivan and late scribe Wendy Wasserstein.

In the future the Wing, the legit org that co-presents the Tony Awards, plans to introduce further materials from additional partnerships, including one with tuner developer Musical Theater Works.

The new content supplements the audio and video material produced by the Wing since 1979, also available on the org's website. Upcoming offerings from the SDCF partnership include talks with Trevor Nunn, Christopher Ashley, Kathleen Marshall and Michael Mayer.
