The Fox-based production and financing outfit came out on top of a bidding war that involved five studios, paying low- to mid-seven figures for the family adventure. The duo's elaborate pitch visually outlined the entire film with 234 cards, creating a map of the story.
Plot follows a family in danger after they house-swap with another in Europe.
Ellen Goldsmith-Vein is also producing through her Gotham Group shingle, with colleague Lindsay Williams exec producing. Gotham Group, which recently inked a first-look production deal with Sony Pictures Animation, has more than 30 films set up across town, including "Spanking Shakespeare" at Paramount; "The Devil You Know" for 20th Century Fox, with Shawn Levy directing; and "Big Brave Brian" for CBS Films.
Levin and Flackett wrote and directed the Jodie Foster starrer "Nim's Island" and co-wrote "Journey to the Center of the Earth." "The Family Hitchcock" reunites the duo with New Regency, which produced their first feature "Little Manhattan."
