Oprah selects her OWN flack

Liz Dolan named chief marketing officer

At least a year before its official bow, the Oprah Winfrey Network has nearly completed assembling an executive team with its announcement of Liz Dolan as chief marketing officer.

Dolan, a former corporate veep and director of global marketing at Nike, will be responsible for forging a brand identity for the nascent network across electronic, print and online platforms.

Following her Nike stint, Dolan hung out her own consultancy shingle, focusing on female-friendly brands. In 2001, she created and hosted (with her four real-life siblings) Satellite Sisters, a syndicated yakker on Public Radio Intl., ABC Radio Networks and online.

"Liz's talent for capturing the true emotion of a brand is extraordinary," said OWN prexy Robin Schwartz.
