The film franchise most associated with Thanksgiving is Warner Bros.' "Harry Potter." But there are only three films left in that series -- and only one bowing over Thanksgiving, in 2010.
Summit caught a lucky break when Warners decided to push back the release of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" from Thanksgiving 2008 to summer 2009.
There are four books in Stephenie Meyer's bestselling "Twilight" franchise.
The final "Potter" film will likely open in summer 2011.
Through Sunday, "Twilight's" domestic cume was $150 million in its fourth week.
Also slated to open on Nov. 20, 2009, are Warners' "Sherlock Holmes," Sony toon "Planet 51" and MGM's untitled "Three Stooges" project.
Chris Weitz recently signed on to "New Moon," taking over from "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke.
