Lambert is a 14-year veteran agent at WMA who repped actors such as Kiefer Sutherland and Scarlett Johansson, and specialized in packaging independent films powered by WMA clients. He announced internally his plans to leave the agency last month.
The dual post at Relativity is designed for Lambert to use his business background to help CEO Kavanaugh forge strategic and global financial partnerships for the company. He'll use his talent relationships to boltster production president Tucker Tooley's efforts to grow Relativity Media's one-off picture business.
While Relativity Media has long-term co-financing pacts with Sony Pictures and Universal Pictures, Lambert will focus on the company's booming production business.
Relativity Media will be hands-on in the production of genre films developed by Rogue Pictures, which it is acquiring from Universal. RM just made a multipicture deal with Atlas Entertainment, which is in production on the Relativity-financed Dominic Sena-directed supernatural thriller "Season of the Witch," which stars Nicolas Cage.
Relativity Media is also in production on the Jackie Chan starrer "The Spy Next Door," the Lasse Hallstrom-directed "Dear John" and "Nine," the Rob Marshall-directed musical.
"As a former agent at William Morris, Scott brings to Relativity a real business savvy and great knowledge of the industry," Kavanaugh said.
Lambert began his agenting career in the Triad mailroom and has spent most of his career at WMA, with a brief stop as a talent manager.
