DIRECTOR: Patrick Creadon, a former network news cameraman, partnered with producer and wife Christine O'Malley. Their doc feature debut was 2006's "Wordplay."
SUBJECT: U.S. national debt and fiscal health is out of control.
FINANCING: Private financing. The film was acquired by a not-for-profit org after its Sundance premiere.
DISTRIB: Roadside Attractions distributed the film theatrically in all 50 states.
HELMER COMMENTS: "When we started making this film, some colleagues thought it was a really bad idea," Creadon says. "But we were drawn to it because we thought the topic was interesting and because we thought making the film would be very challenging. Two years later, the financial health of the United States is arguably the most important story in the world today. We think the film accomplishes the goal of telling the story in an entertaining and nonpartisan way."
