New project will be co-hosted by "Chicken Soup for the Soul" co-founder Jack Canfield, and be based on the series of books. The "Chicken Soup" franchise has sold more than 112 million copies across the globe, in more than 100 countries.
"There is a desire for uplifting, positive and inspiring themes," said Orly Adelson, president of Dick Clark Prods. "The 'Chicken Soup for the Soul' books are the perfect embodiment of this."
A previous "Chicken Soup for the Soul" anthology series ran on Pax TV during the 1999-2000 TV season. That version featured host Michael Tucker ("L.A. Law") as he introduced segments based on the books.
Dick Clark Prods. produces "So You Think You Can Dance" and the Golden Globes, among other programs.
