'Four Christmases' premieres in L.A.

Reese Witherspoon, Robert Duvall attend

Seth Gordon's been living with the Christmas spirit for the past two years, culminating in Thursday's "Four Christmases" preem at the Chinese.

"I'm as fascinated by the whole idea of this very Americanized holiday as when I started," he said at the post-preem bash at the Roosevelt. "Families aren't nuclear any more but we take Christmas just as seriously. There's a lot of humor in that."

Reese Witherspoon and castmates Kristin Chenoweth, Robert Duvall and Sissy Spacek attended while Vince Vaughn was in Bora Bora on a shoot. Other notables included Sue Kroll, Toby Emmerich, Richard Brener and producer Jonathan Glickman.

Glickman opined that there's nothing like Christmas get-togethers to bring family neuroses to the forefront -- particularly amid uncertain times.

"I think escapism works well when there's an economic downturn," he added. "I told Reese we were doing 'Four Hanukkahs' next."
