BAM to screen new print of 'Ball'

Forman film was nominated for Oscar in 1973

BAM Cinematek will screen a new print of Milos Forman's "The Fireman's Ball." The helmer's 1967 comic satire follows a fire chief's disaster-filled 86th birthday and aftermath, and was banned by the Soviets in 1973. Pic, which was nommed for a foreign language Oscar, will screen from Dec. 12-18 at BAM's Rose Cinemas.
