'View' at No. 1 in daytime ratings

ABC show averaged 4.7 million viewers

'The View'

ABC's 'The View' became the most watched daytime show, averaging 4.7 million viewers in the week ended Sunday.

After a dozen years on the air, "The View" finally became the week's most watched show in daytime.

ABC panel skein averaged 4.7 million viewers for the week ended Sunday, garnering its biggest aud ever (6.2 million) on Nov. 5, the Wednesday after the election.

"The View" also outpaced the rest of its daytime competish in women 18-49, helping the Alphabet claim daytime's top spot in the demo for the November sweeps week.

Meanwhile, on the cable side of the spectrum, Bravo's "Top Chef" franchise achieved a high for its fifth-season premiere, with Tuesday's bow of "Top Chef: New York" garnering what is by far the reality skein's best preem numbers to date.

Series scored 1.9 million viewers in 18-49, a 27% uptick over the season four premiere of "Top Chef: Chicago."
