Collier, who had been exec VP-general manager since 2006, has overseen the movie web's expansion into original programming, first with 2006's Emmy-winning miniseries "Broken Trail." At this year's Emmys, the net scored the top-drama win with "Mad Men" and the actor nod for "Breaking Bad" lead Bryan Cranston.
Collier "has elevated the brand to new heights and has presided over AMC during a period of record growth and success," said Ed Carroll, prexy of national entertainment services for Rainbow Media, which owns AMC, IFC and the Sundance Channel, among other nets.
AMC's next tentpole production will be a remake of 1960s sci-fi drama "The Prisoner," set to bow next year.
