Samuel Goldwyn picks up 'Style'

Company nabs rights to teen motocross film

Samuel Goldwyn Films' has picked up U.S. theatrical rights to William Dear's "Free Style" starring "High School Musical's" Corbin Bleu. Fox Home Entertainment got vid rights from Rigel Entertainment, who's hawking the pic at the AFM.

Heart-throb Blue plays a motocross racer vying for a spot on the Grand National team. It costars Penelope Ann Miller and telenovela star Sandra Echeverria. Hollywood Records will target a soundtrack to tweeners featuring tracks from the Jonas Brothers, Nickelback and a new song from Bleu called "Moments."

Goldwyn says it plans an aggressive release on a minimum of 500 screens in February 2009. The distrib recently struck gold with "Fireproof" a Kirk Cameron starrer that's been barnstorming the faith-based theatrical circuit, pulling in north of $26.5 million.
